ABOUT KSTAR 1400 AM:
KSRR or KSTAR originally signed on as KCSU in 1947 and was owned and operated by Frank and Harold VanWagenen. It was been a country music station until 1985 when Robert Morey purchased the station and became the first to play non-stop Latter Day Saint music.
In 1995 KSTAR added adult contemporary music and the call letters were changed to KSRR.
KSTAR was the first to offer an LDS music format and introduced the famous Sounds of Sunday worship programming which plays everything from Janice Kappy Perry to Mormon Tabernacle Choir music.
Sadly, KSTAR lost its stalwart station owner, Robert Morey, in 2008. Yet today, the KSTAR and its sister station KQMB FM is still run by the Morey family. Richard Morey is the station manager and Ruby Morey run the station office. Their family-owned radio stations broadcast some of Utah’s favorite music and talk programming.
